The kerf accepts this weatherstripping by means of pushing it in to the small slit that runs the sides and top of the door. To remove the old stripping you simply pull it from the slot (it may take some force or even require you use a flat thin blade to get it started).If you need to replace the stripping on a single door then sadly you'll need to buy three of these. Each strip will do one complete side or 2 standard door tops. For 2 standard width doors you'll need just 5 strips, one strip will complete each door top. The project can be completed in just 5 minutes per door. The only tools I used where a small pocket knife to pick the old strip out enough to grab it with my hand, and a pair of kitchen scissors to cut it to size. |
